Also, I've created a very useful Twenty-Six Week Lesson Journal. Comprised of alternating assignment pages for teachers to post each week's lesson, and detailed weekly charts for students to keep accurate tabs of what they practiced and how much per day!  This helps the teacher determine the student's progress, and if they are assigning too much or too little.  It also helps the student and parents keep tabs on how effective their saxophone teacher is! (holding the teacher accountable!  No more "just keep working on this etude and I'll see you at your next lesson" from mediocre teachers!  It's a 2 way street!!!  Teacher's gotta do their absolute best too!).  Be efficient, know where everybody stands, chart improvement, keep records (a great almanac!), and you should notice improvement on your instrument!
