My second saxophone
instructional book,
"SAXOPHONE - Everything
Sax Players Should Know!",
goes into greater detail regarding elements of jazz and R&B playing.
I elaborated more on topics such as pattern writing over specific chord
changes, developing one's altissimo playing abilities,
creating a "Bag of Tricks" to use with your playing, etc. I'm confident that this
book will
FINALLY make
sense of jazz theory and jazz playing to any serious sax player once and
for all.
HOWEVER, I highly recommend you use this book AFTER you've used my first
book. The first book re-enforces the basics and goes way beyond,
discussing scales (which is vital for pattern writing),
general practice tips, equipment basics, etc., and it has some great stuff in it that
you can add to
your "Bag of Tricks". I hope you find this
book to be very informative and helpful!
Also,
be sure to check out the
ON-LINE SUPPLEMENT
for
audio examples
regarding this book's "Bag
of Tricks" section,
and more.
